Crate Training at Cradle Kennels

At Cradle Kennels, every puppy leaves us with the right start in life. Our pups are crate trained for comfortable travel and stress-free house training — making those first few weeks in your home calm and enjoyable for both puppy and family.

Why We Use the Crate

A crate is more than just a box — it becomes your puppy’s safe den. It helps them learn boundaries, builds confidence, and makes travel or vet visits far less stressful.

From an early age, we introduce our puppies to their crate as a cosy, positive place to rest and sleep. The process starts right in the whelping area with mother Jacky, who naturally teaches her pups routine and calmness. We simply continue that foundation.

Our Crate Training Method

Gradual introduction:

Puppies are encouraged to explore the crate on their own, always with soft bedding and positive reinforcement.

Comfort and routine:

We close the gate only during nap or bedtime so the crate feels like a warm, predictable space.

Consistency at home:

By the time they go to their new families, our pups already associate the crate with comfort and sleep.

Playpen setup:

To support house training, we also use a playpen setup during the first 2–3 weeks. This gives the pup room to play and stretch, while keeping training consistent and mess-free.

Easy House & Potty Training for New Owners

Families who follow our instructions often tell us how surprisingly quick and easy house training becomes. The crate gives structure and teaches puppies bladder control while promoting calm, confident behaviour.

“People who follow our guide rave about how effortless this method is!”
